You, the visitor, are strongly encouraged
to send in any Alcoholics Anonymous history
you may have in your possession to add to
silkworth.net so that silkworth.net will
be one and/or become the most comprehensive,
most informational source of Alcoholics
Anonymous history on the World Wide Web
- Any A.A. history. Keeping A.A.'s history
alive on the web to the general public is
very important if we are to survive through-out
the years to come. Not just for us already
proclaimed recovering Alcoholics, but for
those who think they may have a problem
with Alcohol - likely candidates for membership.
A.A.'s history is, pretty
much, kept under lock and key at AAWS, Inc.
in New York which many A.A. members will
never have the privilege to view/read/study.
Only a fraction of A.A. members will take
the journey to New York to view the A.A.
history that AAWS, Inc. has in its possession.
Darlene, I know you know
silkworth.net exists and wishes only to
provide the truth about A.A. and any A.A.
history related information. Though you
expressed you never received a reply from
me, I know you did all three times. Any
A.A. history information will never be taken
out of context on silkworth.net - rather
posted exactly as it was printed for the
visitors to read and study - placed in its
proper place on silkworth.net for the hundreds
of thousands of visitors to silkworth.net
to read and learn from. Please know that
silkworth.net, or myself, makes no money
from a profitable stand point. All money
& grants are strictly used for silkworth.net.
All information is provided for free as
it should be.
So, all who read this,
please send in any A.A. history information
to add to silkworth.net that you may have
in your possession - that silkworth.net
will be the premier place for all such information
for years to come. Contact
here with your A.A. history
information. ~ Yours in service, Jim M.
I am very grateful to all who has contributed.
Note:
Though I have tried several times, over
the last few years, to put together a team
to work on silkworth.net along with myself,
I have been unsuccessful in doing so. Hopefully
this can become a reality in the near future.
Yours in service, Jim M.

Do
we want more of what brought us to AA ...
We
were having trouble with personal relationships,
we couldn't control our emotional natures,
we were a prey to misery and depression, we
couldn't make a living, we had a feeling of
uselessness, we were full of fear, we were
unhappy, we couldn't seem to be of real help
to other peoplewas not a basic solution
of these bedevilments more important
... ?
... or do we want what
practicing the principles of AA promises?
If
we are painstaking about this phase of our
development, we will be amazed before we
are half way through.
We are going to
know a new freedom and a new happiness.
We will not regret
the past nor wish to shut the door on it.
We will comprehend
the word serenity and we will know peace.
No matter how far
down the scale we have gone, we will see
how our experience can benefit others.
That feeling of
uselessness and self pity will disappear.
We will lose interest
in selfish things and gain interest in our
fellows.
Self-seeking will
slip away.
Our whole attitude
and outlook upon life will change.
Fear of people and
of economic insecurity will leave us.
We will intuitively
know how to handle situations which used
to baffle us.
We will suddenly
realize that God is doing for us what we
could not do for ourselves.
Are
these extravagant promises? We think not.
They are being fulfilled among ussometimes
quickly, sometimes slowly. They will always
materialize if we work for them.

"God,
I offer myself to Thee—to build with
me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve
me of the bondage of self, that I may better
do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that
victory over them may bear witness to those
I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy
Way of life. May I do Thy will always!"

"Lord,
make me a channel of thy peace—that
where there is hatred, I may bring love—that
where there is wrong, I may bring the spirit
of forgiveness—that where there is discord,
I may bring harmony—that where there
is error, I may bring truth—that where
there is doubt, I may bring faith—that
where there is despair, I may bring hope—that
where there are shadows, I may bring light—that
where there is sadness, I may bring joy. Lord,
grant that I may seek rather to comfort than
to be comforted—to understand, than
to be understood—to love, than to be
loved. For it is by self-forgetting that one
finds. It is by forgiving that one is forgiven.
It is by dying that one awakens to Eternal
Life. Amen."
