120 Everyday Angels

120 Everyday Angels

Al Kohallek has been getting all kinds of ideas what an angel is from some of his AA friends. 1. Like an immortal, spiritual being attendant on God. 2. One conventional representation of a human figure may have a halo and wings. 3. Maybe, A guardian spirit or guiding influence. 4. How about God's thoughts flowing through created beings to us. Then Lou-is his sponsor told him of his experience with everyday angels. This morning during my prep time I run across a reading from Psalm 91. "For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone." Well I had dashed my toe against a chair last night because I did not turn the light on. I remembered a warning that went something like; "Those who walk in darkness will stumble against a rock [chair]." Was an angel trying to warn me about walking around in the dark? A few months ago I did not turn on the light, and I stumbled in the darkness into the staircase just after I was reading that quote. I promised myself I would never walk in my self-imposed darkness again. However, I did it again last night. I am more concerned with the Self-imposed darkness beyond the physical darkness. I do love the idea that angels are ever present. Maybe the Invisible Means of Support I enjoy is my everyday angels. I have experienced the statement on page 84 of the Big Book, "We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us." Perhaps this grace is the angels causing us to intuitively know. I want to believe that is true. I say to myself, then act like it and turn the light on next time.

QUESTIONS:

1. So, what does an angel look like?

2. Or what does an angel sound like?

3. Where do angels hang out?

Random Awakening

This is Day Twenty-seven of Lou-is' 40-Day feasting on his individual heart's desire, which is something he wants to attain and to fast from everything, which is unlike it. This project is to build the Spiritual, mental, physical, emotional and social equivalent or container to enable him to change and keep that change, by practice. I am dedicating one of my daily practices for each of the major characteristics of my mission. TODAY: EMPOWERING
