153 Rule 62 And

One of my readings this morning was from Tradition Four in Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions about Rule #62; "Don’t take yourself too damn seriously." However, live the Program as if your life depended on it. The effectiveness of our living the Program depends on our Source. If our Higher Power is our one Source there is no need to take ourselves too seriously. "A.A.’s Twelve Steps are a group of principles, spiritual in their nature, which, if practice as a way of life, can expel the obsession to drink and enable the sufferer to become happily and usefully whole. Being whole, fulfilled, joyous, happy and free is to be the individual we were created as. Living our Program the best we can will chip away all that is not true self. I may add if we are not enjoying our A.A. way of life we are doing something wrong or we have not been doing it long enough. Our business is to bring our whole nature as fast as we can into conformity with the Love and Will of our Father. What would I do differently if I could do it over? I would ask more of our Father, more of the Program and more of myself, sooner. Thy Love, Thy Will be done.

1. Have you taken yourself too damn seriously?

2. Do you look to your Higher Power for the important results or yourself?
