326 No Prize

When I was growing up I felt sorry for myself that I would never be first at anything. As long as I was trying to be someone or something other than myself I had no solution for the problem. As my dad's partner once said "you know that Jim is no prize." At the time that was an understatement. Now I know it is enough to be the individual our Father created me to be, no more, no less. I realize it is a great joy to be second (second as metaphor not a placement) behind my Big Brother, my Hero Jesus. "No man need prepare to meet his God; he is meeting Him every day...in the silence of his own soul." (The Science of Mind page 388) At each beginning this day let me be still even for an instant within the silence of my soul with an alert receptivity. Speak to me Father in a way I can currently hear understand and follow. I am reminded of our capacity for the transcendent, which is precisely what distinguishes us most from the rest of visible creation. It is what makes us most human. That second place is a seat of honor, not shame; we are an effect of the First Cause. With Love everything is possible, but I must leave that everything up to our Father's judgment because I cannot see deep or far enough. I need for a trusting abiding faith in His grace is most important. I believe that all of us respond to love silently if not openly. Our love is a healing power, our love is an extension of our Father's love. Thy Love be done.
