330 Awaken the Hero

What awakens the hero or heroine within each of us? Does it take a great act? Is the hero or heroine hidden within me? Are we vicariously experiencing our heart’s desire by means of sports, movies, TV or purposeful life well lived? The ever day expressions of compassion, love and service fosters the meaning of life, love. Do we discount those because they did not make the news? Are we fearful that others will find out that we want to be a hero? It takes courage to carry out a commitment to our family, AA or job when there is no reward in sight? Perhaps the difference between vicariously experiencing a hero’s way with no follow up action, looking for another fix. Action is the magic word giving us a growing or awakening experience. My greatest Hero’s commandment is to love one another. When we let go of our fear of love and our selfishness we extend our love which changes us for the better. He also said that we are to love our enemies. That takes a hero’s effort to do, but the willingness to doing it changes our character. As our character is changing so is our love changing. Our love is a healing power, an extension of our Father’s love. Practicing the AA principles in all our affairs is the hero’s journey. Come let us love one another. Let us awaken to the hero or heroine within that Divine Design, our created Self. Our return to love can be very therapeutic. Everything that happens is a hero or heroine’s opportunity to grow, to love one another. Thy Love be done.
