WHEN
MAN LISTENS
by
Cecil Rose
Everyone
can listen to God.
When man listens, God Speaks.
When man obeys, God works.
When men are changed, nations change.
TO
THE OXFORD GROUP
THE GROWING ARMY OF MEN AND WOMEN
WHO ARE PROVING AFRESH FOR OUR GENERATION
THAT
When
man listens, God speaks;
When man obeys, God works.
The
chapters of this book are an attempt to set down briefly
the simple elements of Christian living. I believe that
there is nothing in them which cannot be found in the New
Testament. It is my unpayable debt to my friends of the
Oxford Group that they brought me face to face with the
challenge of this way of life, and with patience, frankness,
and love are showing me how to find and live it more fully.
Meeting the Group has meant for me not only a new release
and power in my own life, but the birth in me of a new hope
for the world. Ideals which seemed to recede further with
every year, are being brought within reach through men and
women who have faced such a personal revolution that God
is, through them, bringing about a revolution in society.
This
book is itself a product of the team work to which the
Oxford Group is lending fresh and deeper meaning. Without
the first suggestion of one friend and the later help
of a good many others, it could not have reached its present
form. For what has been written I must myself take full
responsibility. For their help I gladly acknowledge my
debt.
