099 Love Turns Work Into Rest

Yes, Father, love does turn work into rest. Each spiritual experience or awakening changes all of our relationships, with other people, places, things and ourselves. We were given a purpose when we were created. Seeking and finding that purpose and living it are our reason for being. It is the only way to experience joy, happiness and freedom. Our A.A. Program offers us the tools to chip away all that is not that purpose. My mission is service. I seek contemplative service coming from Spiritual awakenings. I seek the intuitive wisdom our Program promises. I really enjoying serving when I can see it is making a difference. I experience it best when I have a deep love and compassion. I do loving things daily but I don’t always experience love and compassion. When I do I am reminded that I do have a purpose. For me love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them I am a dry giver at best. Come let us love one another. Thy Love, Thy Will be done.

1. Have you found your mission, purpose?

2. Have you learned that you need to give away what you want to keep?

Al Kohallek asked his sponsor if he heard about the nine ever-day elements of love. Lou-is replied, when I came into the Program so many members of our group were reading a book written a longtime ago. The title was The Greatest Thing in the World, by Henry Drummond (1851 – 1897). He listed what many believed to be the greatest thing or good. In his judgment like Paul’s in 1 Corinthians 13 was love. I will share a little of my experience for each one of these elements of love for I believe our Program is a way of life and that life is love.
